Why consider a dusty blue wedding theme?
Blue coordinates well with almost any other color for Virginia weddings. Pink, orange, white, yellow, and many other tones enhance the addition of blue. Additionally, the sky-toned color of this event adds a freshness incorporated throughout the theme. Dusty blue bridesmaids’ gowns, blue flowers, and dusty wedding accessories take center stage throughout Alex and Andrew’s big day.
Other Details in This Virginia Wedding
Alex and Andrew included the Southern tradition of burying the bourbon into their day. Traditionally, couples bury a bottle of bourbon exactly a month before their wedding date. However, be sure to bury it upside down, and the result will hopefully be a rain-free wedding day. As a result, the tradition of burying the bourbon definitely worked for this couple!
Also, don’t miss the kitty cat. It’s so sweet that the bride is holding one—adorable!
Lastly, putting a sixpence in the bride’s left shoe is a Victorian-era tradition that supposedly brings luck. In fact, the saying goes: “Something old, something new, something borrowed, something blue, and a sixpence in her shoe.” So, if you want to give yourself an extra dose of good luck for your marriage, put six cents into your left shoe, too.
Alex & Andrew’s Virginia Dusty Blue Wedding Story
Alex and Andrew met at Gold’s Gym, where Alex worked and Andrew worked out! They started talking because Alex had a crush on Andrew. Eventually, Alex invited him to a birthday celebration, and the rest was history.
Andrew proposed to Alex at Barboursville Winery during a weekend getaway in Charlottesville. Although they had to deal with planning during the pandemic, they eventually decided to marry at Alex’s family farm. As a result, they had a gorgeous dusty blue wedding day with beautiful weather.
