If you are finding yourself stuck at home dreaming about your new home with your future spouse, you can use your time to learn a new skill! And I’m not talking about becoming fluent in Spanish or being able to rewire a home. There’s a new craft on the market that is very old school – needlepoint. And why not pepper your walls with lovely embroidery designs that you made yourself? The best part is that embroidery stitches can be done while you are watching TV or chatting with family. It’s a wonderful way to pass the time with beautiful results!

About Embroidery Patterns
Etsy has many different DIY kits for you to make beautiful things for your new home. The examples below are made with all hand embroidery stitches, but it’s necessary to look at the details thoroughly to find out what exactly comes in each kit. You may have to purchase embroidery tools or various types of embroidery needles, so read through what your kit includes so that you are fully equipped to sew all of your lovely embroidery flowers once your kit arrives.
The beautiful cacti pattern below is an example of how some of your supplies may come. Minimally, you should receive your fabric, which is pre-printed with the design. A quality kit should also include thread in a variety of colors. Instructions will include what embroidery stitches to use. Additional embroidery tools, such as a hoop and needles may be included. Just be prepared and read the details of the kit you are considering.

3. Floral Embroidery Kit, $16
With this kit, you can pick one of three patterns. Although they are very similar, there are subtle differences in both color and style. There are a variety of stitches, which is a bit more advanced than the previous one. It is still very manageable for a beginner, though!
4. Modern Succulents, $16
If you want a bit of color added to your succulent collection, this embroidery kit is the one! There are four patterns available, so you can choose one that best suits your style.

8. Sunset Embroidery Kit, $26
Part mandala, part sunset, this beautiful kit features a dark fabric with a geometric evening skyline as its feature. How pretty, and it’s great for beginners, too. As you can see below, it also includes the hoop, which is a bonus.
9. Laugh in Flowers, $27
If you believe that the earth laughs in flowers, then this happy DIY embroidery kit is for you. It uses a reverse technique by leaving the word area free of embroidery stitches. So cute!
10. Hair Embroidery Design, $9
This beautiful hairstyle kit is perfect for the bride-to-be who is wearing her hair like this on her big day. The little flowers are adorable, and it is a sweet keepsake.
11. Succulent Embroidery Designs, $17

What a cute kit! A paper boat floats on a sea of waves in this fabulous, nautical design. It’s not terribly difficult to make, either. Perfect for a house by the ocean – or anywhere, really!

LaurynThese are so cute! I wish I was more crafty and able to make pretty things like this.
TaylorI am obsessed with all of these designs!! I especially love the succulents!
KileenWhat a fun and cute activity for being quarantined! These designs are so cute!
CarolynI like the idea of activities like this because I usually like to do something more than just watch tv. Right now, it’s coloring. I’ve tried this before and sadly I just wasn’t any good. But these designs are so cute that I wish I was good at it so I could decorate my walls!
JuliaLove the boat design and cactus embroidery! Such a great activity for the current period!
StephanieIt’s so nutty to me, seeing embroidery become popular again. When I was younger, my mom taught me to cross-stitch and embroider because I was home-educated in a conservative religious community, and that’s just what you learned in order to be a “homemaker.” However, now I’m seeing it be trendy and I keep thinking to myself, “I wish it had been cool when I was a kid!” Haha!
DeborahI’ve always wanted to get into embroidery! I haven’t had much time due to work being SUPER busy for me right now but I’ll save this post for when things slow down.
LilyI used to know how to do this…my grandmother taught me. But I don’t think I remember now. I should pick it back up.
EmilyThese are so pretty. I’ve thought about trying embroidery. It seems like a great way to pass the time!
