Timeline for Wedding Save the Dates

When should you send out save the dates? Great question! This may sound super early, but it’s best to send them out 6-12 months before your big day. If you are having your ceremony near a holiday, the timeline etiquette for wedding save the dates is to send them out 9-12 months beforehand.

Honestly, the earlier the better, but don’t be too aggressive if you’ll be engaged for a long time. If you have further questions about wedding save the date information, just check out their service here to find out more.

  • Kileen - Love Minted! They have such cute designs and I love your Save the Date invites, they look amazing!

  • Ashley R - Save the dates are a great idea but also, isnt the wedding invitation telling you the date? Just an added expense if you are trying to be frugal.

  • Stephanie - Oh my goodness, so many gorgeous ideas here! We didn’t do a save the date, as much as I wanted to – just because of the expense. But now, looking back, I wish I had. These are so fun!

  • Jennifer - It’s definitely an extra expense, but if couples are engaged for a bit, it’s a great way to introduce your spouse-to-be while sending out something early before all of the details are finalized. Great point, though! <3

  • Carolyn - We didn’t do a save the date because we were on a tight budget, but I think they’re so cool! I loved receiving them because they’re such a fun reminder!

  • Jennifer - They really are! I also love the ones with photos because it’s a fun way to have a more casual photo of the couple before the big day.
