It’s February, and that means that Valentine’s Day is upon us! And if you are searching for Valentine’s Day cocktails, just end your search now! Featuring flavors of coffee and chocolate, these can satiate any sweet tooth. Plus, they are frozen, so it gives you even more of an excuse to snuggle up to your love.

Valentine’s Day Cocktails
Recently, I got together with Chrissy Howell of C. Howell Photography, and we had so much fun creating, crafting, and photographing cocktails using sake from SakeOne. Oh, and I will admit that there may have been some taste testing going on. Just maybe!
If you aren’t familiar with sake – I totally wasn’t – it is a smooth alcohol that can easily (and subtly) be mixed in with just about anything as you will see. I hope you enjoy these two recipes. I don’t know which one I like better!

Sake Kissed Milkshake
I have always wanted to create a spiked milkshake, and Valentine’s Day is the perfect time to do so! Add in ice cream and chocolate, and I’m so there. Enjoy this first of my Valentine’s Day cocktails. Yum!
Ingredients – makes one drink
- 2 scoops coffee flavored ice cream
- 1/2 cup milk
- 1 ounce G Fifty sake
- chocolate shavings (for garnish)
- chocolate kiss (for garnish)
Method
- Place ice cream, milk, and sake in blender and blend. Feel free to use less liquid or more ice cream depending on how thick you like your milkshakes (the thicker, the better for me).
- Pour into a favorite glass.
- Garnish with chocolate shavings (easily made with a grater and chocolate!)
- Place kiss on top.
- Drink and enjoy immediately!
Chocolate Sak-tini
The day of love also brings chocolate. Why not skip the sweets-filled heart, and make a fun cocktail instead? So good!
Ingredients – makes one drink
- 2 ounces G Fifty sake
- 2 ounces heavy whipping cream, half and half, or flavored coffee creamer
- 1 package hot chocolate mix (without marshmallows is best)
- 1 shot espresso
- coffee bean (for garnish)
- grated coffee bean
Method
- Mix whipping cream (or whatever your choice is) with hot chocolate mix until it becomes frothy.
- Add in sake and espresso and mix again.
- Pour into a glass and let it sit for a few minutes until the froth rises.
- Garnish with coffee bean and grated coffee shavings.
- Drink and enjoy!
