Hill City Bride

Everyday Wedding from Sam Stroud Photography – Josh and Jennie

One of the things that makes me love weddings is flowers (okay, and I will admit to cake, too … as long as I am there to taste it), and I am so in love with the flowers at Josh and Jennie’s wedding. Decadent orchids and roses make a lovely trail down the picturesque cake, and the details of the jewelry (complete with a Tiffany and Co. necklace) would make any girl happy! Oh, and I adore her Land’s End tote bag … it is so sweet that it was embroidered with her new name. Sam Stroud of Sam Stroud Photography did an amazing job of capturing the details of this wedding with Jewish flair, which took place at Hidden Valley Country Club in Roanoke, VA. Enjoy!

I wish Josh and Jennie a wonderful lifetime together, and if you would like to check out more of their wedding photos as captured by Sam, just head on over to the blog of Sam Stroud Photography.

Everyday Wedding by Shaking Hands Productions – Lee and Megan

I can not stress it enough that I just LOVE our area!!  We have so many options available to us so close by … the beach, the mountains, the lake, downtown … etc. Today’s “Hill City” bride can have her wedding in a location that perfectly suits her and her personality … how perfect!

One of my favorite summertime locations is Smith Mountain Lake. It brims with life and just screams “fun” in my opinion … boating, swimming, wakeboarding, dining on the water … did you know that there is even a miniature golf course over the water? Well, before I get too deeply invested in talking about one of my beloved VA locations, I wanted to let you know that it is a great place to get married!!

Brad Bennett of Shaking Hands Productions filmed this trailer of Lee and Megan’s wedding that took place at Smith Mountain Lake in June. Lee and Megan’s wedding took place at The Water’s Edge Country Club in Penhook, VA … what a gorgeous site! I hope that you enjoy taking a peek at their SML wedding.

Everyday E Session from S Carter Studios – Gavin and Kelsey

What do you get when you combine paint, canvas and an adorable couple? Well, you definitely get something unique and creative! This engagement shoot from S Carter Studios looks like it was SO incredibly fun, and Gavin and Kelsey seem to be the perfect couple to carry it out. Sabrena Deal gave Gavin and Kelsey the tools to paint with, and as you will see … not all of the paint ended up on the canvas! Sabrena captured some priceless facial expressions, and I hope that you enjoy this fun session.

Everyday Trash the Dress by Stone Blue Productions – Jeffrey and Amanda

Carnival rides, a bicycle, swimming in the ocean and a wedding dress … which is the odd one in the group? Well, none of them if you are at VA Beach doing a Trash the Dress session with Stone Blue Productions.

What exactly is Trash the Dress? It is a fun session that takes place after the wedding, which gives a new purpose for a dress that is not needed anymore … mess it up, get it wet and be creative all while documenting it with beautiful photographs. Jeffrey and Amanda’s photo session was so amazingly different … I adore the ones on the carnival ride!

I hope that this session, which was filmed and photographed by the three Guelzo brothers, brings a smile to your face and helps you to linger on to the fun of summer days at the beach. Enjoy!

If you are in the mood for some unique photos after your wedding, you may want to consider a lively Trash the Dress session, too! To view the full gallery of these photos, be sure to visit the blog of Stone Blue Productions. Jeffrey and Amanda … I wish you the best in your lifetime together!

Also, for our giveaway that ended this week … congrats goes out to Kelly L as our winner. Again, she scored a beautiful double initial necklace from Lala Design Studio on Etsy. I will be hosting another giveaway soon, so be on the lookout!
