Everyday Wedding by Crystal George Studios – Adam and Meredith

Yellow is a great color … it is so happy and reminds me of daffodils, sunshine and laughter. In this case, it is perfect for a wedding! Crystal George of Crystal George Studios did an amazing job capturing the wedding of Adam and Meredith, and it is chock full of beautiful detailing. I must also add that I totally covet her shoes … adorable!! They just make me smile.

One thing I also love about Crystal is her personal touch and how she truly gets to know the couples she works with. Here is her take on the wedding in her own words …

Anytime I can spend with a bride on her wedding day listening to Bon Qui Qui is a good day.  Meredith had her laptop open scoping out a last minute song change for the ceremony, and somehow talk turned to Anjela Johnson and her fabulous comic routines … so we laughed and relaxed.  The lovely bride took a few minutes to write thank you cards, check on her bridesmaids (who were getting their hair done) and chat with her grandparents.

Because, you see, that is the wonderful thing about Adam and Meredith.  Meredith has a lovely golden beauty about her, but the beauty that is brightest comes from within. That beauty was reflected in her concern for the people about her that day.  Adam is easygoing and has the gift of making those around him laugh.  He uses words like “amazing” and “wonderful” when he talks about Meredith.  She glows when she is around him.   The song that she chose to walk back down the aisle to was Plain White T’s 1,2,3,4 … the lyrics go something like this and describe their love story perfectly:

I’m so glad I found you.
I love being around you.
You make it easy,
as easy as 1 2,(1 2 3 4.)
There’s only one thing, t
wo do, three words, four you.
I love you.

Sincerely, Liz: Photography – Vendor Spotlight and a New Column

Ok, I am going to do a little bragging for a moment, if I might. I am really, REALLY thrilled to introduce you to Liz Cook of Sincerely, Liz: Photography. Not only is she a super talented photographer, but she happens to be one of the sweetest people I know (and therefore a dear friend of mine!). She was also one of the two people who inspired me to start Hill City Bride, and she took my signature photo for the website … if you want to check it out, just visit the About page for Hill City.

Liz is great at sharing her heart. If you have ever read her blog, you know that she is personable, real and someone that we can all relate to, which is why I am so excited that she will be writing a monthly column for Hill City Bride. The first installment comes out next Wednesday and will continue the first Wednesday of each month.

The article below was written by Liz’s sister, Jacqulyn Miller, and I am pleased to be able to introduce you to the “who” behind the beautiful photography of Sincerely, Liz.

Liz Cook of Sincerely, Liz: Photography is a wedding and lifestyle portrait photographer living in Central Virginia. Originally from King George, VA this small town girl will capture your heart with her transparent passion for you, your day and your family. Liz is married to a soldier serving our country in the Army whom she met while earning her degree from Liberty University in Graphic Design. She also volunteers as a photographer for Operation Love: Reunited and her local church family.

If you ask Liz what she likes about her job she will say, “My clients!” She wishes to be friends with every one of them, and she enjoys getting “their story.” This is evident if you peruse her blog as you will notice a bride and groom laughing on the dance floor on their wedding day and a couple of years later, there they are again kissing a newborn baby.

Liz strives to present timeless images that people will still love ten or twenty years down the road, and her style is one of simplicity, bold colors, soft light, unique details and heart-tugging emotion.

Again, I welcome Liz to our Hill City family of regular columnists … I am looking forward to reading her first article on October 6th!

Everyday Wedding by Jane Bradley Photography – Tim and Whitney

Again, I am so excited to introduce a new photographer to the Hill City family!! Meet Jane Morice of Jane Bradley Photography. Her work is fun, and she thrives on capturing those special moments as is seen in the post below. If you recognize the bride, you must be familiar with the Bride of the Year, which is an honor that was bestowed upon Whitney by the Central Virginia Bridal Guide.

One super cool fact is that the new Mr. and Mrs. Talley drove away in the same exact car that Whitney’s parents drove away in when they got married … how amazing is that? A peek of Whitney’s bridals comes first, and her gown is from Celebration Bridal in downtown Lynchburg.

Oh, and if the wedding photos are not touching enough, wait until you hear this. Whitney’s grandparents could not be present at the ceremony due to health reasons, but the entire wedding was Skyped so that they could be a part of it. How thoughtful! Enjoy a glimpse of this sweet wedding, which took place at Whitney’s parents’ beautiful Boonsboro home.

Thank you again, Jane for sharing your work with Hill City Bride!

Central VA Bridal Guide is Out!!!!

Ok, I may be just a teeny tiny bit excited that this useful guide is finally out! Being a fairly new business (up and running for a tad over 3 months), this mini magazine was my first venture in advertising Hill City Bride … and by mini, I mean size! The Bridal Guide is a such a help for brides that are planning weddings in the Central Virginia area, and it is the perfect size to tuck inside your purse. It’s also a lot of fun to look at even if you are not a bride.

Look for this magazine all over town and from your local vendors soon (they will have them soon if they don’t already), and you will also find them at the upcoming bridal shows in the fall. If you haven’t seen the guide yet, here is a peek at the cover.

Also be sure to look for Hill City Bride’s lovely ad photographed and designed by the talented guys over at Stone Blue Productions. As soon as I spotted the photo, I knew it would be perfect and eyecatching for an ad, and I think they did a great job with it!!

Happy Wedding Day, Brad!!

Yes, this is one exciting weekend for one of our Hill City Bride vendors … Brad Bennett of Shaking Hands Productions is getting married today!!! Brad is a very talented cinematographer, and he and his bride, Lyndsey, make such a stunning couple. I have pre-dibs on featuring their wedding on the blog (yay!!), which is taking place at Riverview Manor and being photographed by the talented Adam Barnes.

Brad, I have really enjoyed getting to know you, and I admire your work. I am wishing you and Lyndsey the wedding that you dreamed of and also a lifetime of happiness. Congratulations!!

I wanted you to know just how gorgeous this couple is, and the photos below were taken by Kellan Studios … stunning!!
